Biography

Shallom Ikenga is a Legal Associate at the Firm’s Dispute Resolution, Banking and Finance and Real Estate Practice Unit. Her practice focuses on high-value commercial and civil disputes, oil and gas, employment and labour matters, corporate advisory, and banking and financial services.

She has experience representing leading financial institutions, International Oil Companies and other high-profile corporate and institutional clients in complex and commercially sensitive matters.

Shallom’s approach combines rigorous legal analysis with an appreciation of her clients’ commercial objectives, enabling her to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear, practical and business-focused advice.

Representative Experience

• Banking and Finance: Represented an International financial institution in complex appellate proceedings involving claims valued at USD 250 million, contributing to a successful outcome on behalf of the client.

• Banking and Finance: Represents the Central Bank of Nigeria and various leading financial institutions in various civil disputes, contributing to successful outcomes across a range of matters.

• Oil and Gas: Represent International Oil Companies in complex environmental and oil spill litigation involving claims by host communities valued at over NGN 500 million, advising on litigation strategy and risk management.

• Labour and Employment: Represent International Oil Companies and leading financial institutions in employment and labour-related disputes, developing litigation strategies aimed at achieving favourable outcomes.

• Real Estate: Represent high-profile real estate clients in disputes relating to deal financing, recovery of premises and other property-related claims, including matters valued at over NGN 50 million.

• Represents the Federal Government in a lawsuit valued at tens of billions of Naira on the recovery of Judgment debt and garnishee proceedings.
