Jessica Iyoke

Jessica Iyoke is a Senior Associate at KENNA with a practice focus on Dispute Resolution and Corporate Commercial law. She represents high-profile clients in complex commercial disputes across the banking and investment, oil and gas, real estate, and business development sectors, while also advising corporate clients on regulatory compliance, brand protection, and intellectual property matters. Jessica’s clientele includes the Federal Government of Nigeria and its agencies, Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, the Central Bank of Nigeria, Novare Group, Olam, the Enugu State Government, and Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, whom she has represented at trial and appellate courts up to the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Jessica is recognised for her proactive and innovative approach to legal practice. She is skilled in identifying and mitigating risks at an early stage and is adept at developing practical negotiation and mediation strategies that serve her clients' best interests. Within the Firm, she heads the Central Bank of Nigeria Secretariat, managing coordination with the finance department on invoice collections and receivables, and as a team lead, she supervises and issues bi-annual statutory compliance regulations to all corporate and commercial clients of the Firm ensuring that all government regulations are complied with.

As a Chartered Secretary with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, Jessica has served as Company secretary to various clients of the Firm.

• Advised and represented the Central Bank of Nigeria in its various currency re-design and distribution lawsuits at the apex Court.

• Represents the Federal Government in a lawsuit valued at tens of billions of Naira on the recovery of Judgment debt and garnishee proceedings.

• Represented a leading telecommunications Company at the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission with respect to an investigation into its service valued at billions of Naira.

• Provided legal advisory services and acted as Counsel to various clients on financial investigations at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for commercial and contractual disputes.

• Provides ongoing compliance advisory services to multinational companies in the financial, communication, energy, manufacturing, real estate, and consumer goods sectors, ensuring their operations adhere to local and international regulations.

• Represents clients on all due diligence, documentations and legal registrations relating to the acquisition of properties for commercial purposes at the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS).

• Provides bi-annual statutory compliance advisory and good corporate governance practices to various companies in the financial, energy, healthcare and manufacturing industry.

• Protects clients’ intellectual property by conducting targeted due diligence, preparing essential filings, and managing the registration of trademarks, copyrights, patents, and related rights to ensure their assets are properly secured and enforceable.
